Cassie Scerbo Rocks a Wedding Dress for New Film 'Bench Seat'

Cassie Scerbo tweeted this pic of herself wearing a wedding dress on Wednesday, but don't worry, Make It Or Break It fans; she's not walking down the aisle in real life. The gown is a costume for her new movie Bench Seat.

"At my 'Bench Seat' fitting 4 my wedding dress <3 w/ the crazy Sammy & miss Judy aka 'The Kids,'" she wrote along with this fun photo. Later she added, "Lol, I'm NOT getting married, I'm 20!! Hah It's for a film."

Bench Seat is an upcoming musical directed by Anna Mastro and written by acclaimed playwright Neil LaBute. What's even more exciting is that Teddy Geiger wrote all of the original music and lyrics for the film! According Anna, the movie is about "a young couple on the verge of either moving forward or breaking up." Cassie plays the female lead in the indie project, which recently raised $12,000 in funding from 138 fans on Kickstarter.

Cassie has been hard at work, rehearsing the musical numbers and learning her choreography in L.A. "Practicing one of the dances for my new film 'Bench Seat' choreographed by Chris Judd," she tweeted
    along with this action shot.

The pic is kind of blurry, but you can see that Cassie is super focused. We can't wait to check out the indie flick when it comes out! Want to hear more about Bench Seat from the director herself? Check out her Kickstarter video in which she talks about the project and how it's a total labor of love.

End-of-Summer Sun Skin Tips From Kerri Walsh

After spending hours in the Summer sun, Kerri shares her tips to keep your skin glowing as the seasons change.

    • Set up an appointment with a dermatologist and/or aesthetician to address any problem areas or concerns you might have.
    • Create a quick and easy daily skin care routine. For example, cleanse, treat (acne, uneven skin tone, anti-aging, etc.), moisturize, and protect with an SPF. Even though Summer is over, the need for daily protection still remains!
    • Hit up the local Farmer's Market. Load up on fresh, organic fruit and vegetables. The healthier you eat, the healthier you'll look and feel, of course!
    • Sleep: a well-rested person is a healthier person in general. Sleep allows our bodies to recover and restore. Sleep deprivation speeds up the aging process, which can be most visibly seen in the appearance of our skin . . . major motivation to catch more zzzz's.
    • Exfoliate: a few times a week, depending on how sensitive your skin is, to slough off the dead, dull skin cells.
    • Choose a healthy lifestyle. Eat healthy foods, be active, get outdoors, minimize unnecessary stress/drama, breathe. Living healthy is a choice, not always an easy one, but it's your choice nonetheless. Choose health to look and feel younger.
    • Choose antioxidants: in your foods and in your skin care products. Keep an eye out for green tea, pomegranate, vitamin C, and dark chocolate. Aside from helping to protect the skin from sun damage, antioxidants also help boost collagen production.

The Iceman Cometh...To Cowboys' Training Camp

The Iceman Cometh...To Cowboys' Training Camp

One would imagine the Dallas Cowboys aren’t often starstruck.

But on Monday, the team found quite a thrill in a visit from former UFC light-heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell, who showed up with Fox analyst Jay Glazer at practice. Before the workout in Oxnard began, head coach Wade Phillips asked “The Iceman” to address the team.

“Basically he told us to just dominate the guy on the other side of the ball,” said fullback Deon Anderson, per the Dallas Morning News. “Football and fighting are two violent sports and you just have to dominate the other guy.”

According to the account in the Morning News, Anderson, who had his hat autographed by Liddell, was particularly excited about the guest speaker. Why was he so wide-eyed?

“Why? What do you mean?” Anderson said. “Because he's very aggressive. He's just one of the top guys at his sport and he does it very intensely. And he's focused. You can see it in his eyes. Look at him--he's got a tattoo on his head.”

Head tattoos aside, one has to respect a man who could beat up any given member of an NFL football team. Then again, for argument’s sake, could anyone on the Cowboys take Liddell in a fight?

“Hell no,” Anderson replied. “That man's a trained professional killer.”

Kerri Walsh's Blog: Playing the Name Game

Kerri Walsh has taken home two Olympic gold medals in beach volleyball with partner Misty May-Treanor.

But she has two even bigger accomplishments to her name: Sons Joseph Michael, 15 months, and Sundance Thomas, 3 months, with fellow volleyball star Casey Jennings.

In her latest blog, Walsh, 32, explains how she and Casey chose names for their two boys — drawing inspiration from family, friends — and Butch Cassidy!

    Courtesy Kerri Walsh

A lot of you have been wondering about the names of our sons. Why did we choose to go with such a traditional name in Joseph Michael and then go the opposite direction with Sundance Thomas? How could we do that to our boys?! They’ll be ruined for life! Well believe it or not, we were very thoughtful when it came to the naming process and we absolutely love the names of our boys.

It was a piece of cake naming Joey. When Casey and I first found out that we were expecting, we settled on Joseph right away. Regardless of whether we were having a boy or a girl, we wanted a “Joey” — it’s a family name for both of us. Casey is the youngest of five boys and the brother closest in age to him and his best friend is Joey. Easy. For me, Joseph is my father’s middle name — which I have always loved — and I love that my son shares that with him.

Joey’s middle name was initially going to be Thomas, just like his Poppa. Sadly a few months before Joey was born, a wonderful man and a dear friend of ours passed away. Michael comes from our beloved friend, Michael John Whitmarsh, and we are so proud to have honored our friend in such a special way. Joey was named after some amazing men — strong, funny, loving, wonderful men — and it most definitely suits him.

Now coming up with Sundance Thomas is an entirely different story, as you can imagine. Sundance is a name that I initially said, “No way!” to. How could we do such a thing to our child?! He’ll be ridiculed! ;)

Well, I obviously changed my mind and here is the reason why: Initially, Sundance was going to be named Kelly Thomas. We found the name Kelly from a character in a movie we both like. Kelly was the father figure and he was so kind and loving and showed such strength. I loved the name, but Casey never truly did. Kelly remained the chosen name until late in my third trimester, when Casey started to throw out suggestions for another name. Neither of us could find a name that fit the little angel in my belly until…

When Casey threw out the name Sundance his eyes lit up like the sun and he smiled so big and bright. “Baby,” he said. “Can you imagine a little Sundance?! Picture our 5-year-old little boy shaking hands and introducing himself at school. ‘Hello! my name is Sundance,’ in his cute little voice. And then when he’s older, sitting on his porch watching his grandkids run around — ole Sundance!”

What about all the years in between, I thought? That’s a lot of years to have to deal with an unusual name, especially when people can be so unkind and judgmental. Casey and I continued to discuss the name but to tell you the truth, in my heart I settled on that name pretty darn quickly.

The way Casey spoke about the name made me fall in love with it. He spoke of his brothers running around like little cowboys while growing up. Exploring, having so many adventures, learning the ways of the world together. He spoke of our boys doing the same.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is a favorite movie in our household. Casey introduced it to me and I absolutely love it. I love it for many reasons, but mainly I love the relationship between Butch and Sundance — so much love and respect. Such a good balance between the two and they both would have done anything for each other. That’s what we wanted for our boys. Love, respect, self-confidence and wisdom through experience.

Casey helped me to see the beauty in the name Sundance, and made me realize that our boy deserved such a strong and special name. Sundance Thomas — I absolutely LOVE IT!! Joseph Michael and Sundance Thomas Jennings. Two beautiful names for two wonderful boys. Names chosen out of love, respect and a sense of cowboy adventure.

    Brendasong

One of our favorite Disney stars, Brenda Song, is starring in the new film The Social Network, which tackles the drama and dealings behind the founding of Facebook and is based on the book “The Accidental Billionaires” by Ben Mezrich. Brenda plays Christy Lee, a smart and sultry Harvard student and friend to Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, played by Jesse Eisenberg, and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, played by Andrew Garfield. Apparently she also becomes involved with the co-founder of Napster, Sean Parker, who is played by Justin Timberlake.

The party girl character (who also commits arson in the film) marks a departure from Brenda’s longtime role as London Tipton, an airhead of an heiress. However, Brenda played a strong woman in Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior and in other films, so we can’t wait to see her portrayal of Christy Lee.

The Social Network hits theatres on October 1. Check out the trailer below!

    The Professor schools on nicknames

    The Professor

The Boost Mobile Elite 24 airs live on ESPNU Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m. EDT

Back in June 2003, when Grayson Boucher made the 45-minute drive from Keizer, Ore., over to Portland to catch the And1 Mixtape Tour, the most popular streetball exhibition in the world, he hadn't planned on suiting up.

"I was such a fan," Boucher said. "I was more than content with just watching."

But when he found out that And1 was looking for unknown streetballers to accompany them on tour, he decided to tryout at the open run.

"I took a shot," Boucher said. "I figured I was better than the guys who were trying out. I just went out there and did my thing."

By the end of the game, Boucher had gotten picked for the tour and received a baller's highest appointment: a nickname.

"They called me 'The Professor' because I was schooling everyone on the court," Boucher said. "It's kind of unheard of to get a nickname that early, but it can happen. Everyone calls me that now."

Seven years later, The Professor is one of the world’s most famous streetball player.

Now he's giving the participants of the 2010 Boost Mobile Elite 24  tips on how to leave Venice Beach, Calif., with the distinct honor of an alias.

    Be extraordinary.
"Not every aspect of your game, just one thing needs to be really extraordinary. It could be crazy handles, a crazy jump shot, crazy jumping ability ... There's a common misconception that it has to be an offensive thing, but that's not exactly true. A lot of times it is, but I've seen a lot of guys build their reps off of a lot of things other than what they do offensively. Whatever your hook is, it needs to be extraordinary."

    Be original.
"Take guys on the And1 Mixtape tour, the ones that most people know have something that they're known for. It's their trademark almost. Take a guy like 720, he got that name because one time in a game he did two 360-dunks in a row without coming down. No one is doing that! Take me, I'm original because I've got a streetball game and I'm a white guy. Same with Air Up There ... Originality is very important, and, don't get me wrong, that is hard because we've done almost every move that can be done."

    Be consistent.

"The reality is that, for the most part, everyone who can ball can hit you with a nice crossover or any type of nice move every once in a while. But you have to do it consistently when you're trying to get a nickname. It's got to be who you are, even if it's just for the Elite 24. You've got to go at the guy guarding you and consistently get him with moves time and time again."

    Be a showman.
"This might be the most important one. The entire culture of streetball is showy. You're trying to show the other man up and when you get the reaction from the crowd for making a nice move you have to play to the crowd in your own way. Like me, I'm more laid back and humble, so I don't do too many crazy things. Even that is playing up to the crowd because I just act like this is what I do. Then take a guy like A.O., if he gets somebody with a nice move toward the end of the fourth quarter he starts taking everything off and throwing it into the crowd. Shirt, shorts, shoes, socks ... People go crazy when he does that."

    Be a stopper.
"If you're doing your thing and going at your man and getting him with moves you've got to know that he's gonna be coming back at you every chance that he can. The true essence of streetball is competition, but you can't let him just get you back every time. You've got to make some stops. It can't be a situation where you're going back and forth taking turns doing each other in. It's like a battle and you've got to be the winner."
